Meta Platforms, Inc. (formerly Facebook) proposed to redevelopment of the former Menlo Science and Technology Park won final approval from the Menlo Park City Council earlier this week. The ambitious 1.6 million square foot Willow Village project will included a town square, shopping, residential and a business campus.

The proposal requests an increase in height, density, and floor area ratio under the bonus level development allowance in exchange for community amenities. The proposal would demolish existing on-site buildings and landscaping at 1350-1390 Willow Road, 925-1098 Hamilton Ave. and 1005-1275 Hamilton Court.

Meanwhile, as Meta is expanding in Menlo Park, it is shedding property across the country, including  the 113,585-square-foot building it has been leasing in Fremont, California and it’s New York City, 225 Park Avenue office.
